ARINC Is Awarded Two FMS Support Contracts for
C-27J Joint Cargo Aircraft and C-130J Transport

August 26, 2010

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Engineering Services, LLC has been awarded two significant acquisition support contracts for U.S. Air Force Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs.

Under a July 22 contract, ARINC will provide program management, acquisition, and system development support for the U.S. Military’s Joint Cargo Aircraft (JCA), the C-27J Spartan. The IDIQ task order from the General Services Administration (GSA) carries a maximum value of $23 million for a 1-year period and four 1-year options.

ARINC’s customer is the C-27J Program Office, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

The C-27J contract follows another $20M+ FMS contract awarded to ARINC earlier in July for acquisition management of the Air Force’s C-130J Super Hercules Transport. ARINC is already supporting C-130J purchases for Norway, India, Iraq, and Israel under the FMS program.

“ARINC is pleased to receive these two important Foreign Military Sales awards, and proud to be able to actively support our coalition partners to improve their readiness posture,” stated Monty Montero, ARINC Vice President, Defense Systems Engineering & Support.

ARINC’s work under both contracts will be performed primarily at Wright-Patterson AFB, with management from the Company’s Dayton, Ohio, office.

The C-27J aircraft originated with the U.S. Army’s Future Cargo Aircraft program, later combined with the Air Force’s Light Cargo Aircraft program to create the Joint Cargo Aircraft (JCA) initiative. In 2007, the government selected the C-27J as the Joint Cargo Aircraft, and management responsibility was later given to the Air Force. The C-27J Charter was formally transferred to the Air Force in a ceremony in Dayton, Ohio on July 22, on the same day that ARINC received its contract award.

Since being selected as the Joint Cargo Aircraft for the U.S. Military, the C-27J has also been ordered by the militaries of Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Morocco, and Romania.
